		<description>Life360 is an app that lets family members keep track of each other, avoid neighborhood dangers and send out family safety alerts using the GPS capabilities of their smart phones. Though the company aspired to be a family safety tool, their identity was synonymous with the app’s original purpose as a means of identifying the locations of sex offenders. The team at Moving Brands repositioned the brand as an intuitive family management service and re-designed the app with an identity system that resonates with parents and millennials alike. Balancing a casual, human visual identity with a brand narrative highlighting Life360’s cutting edge technology, the team was able to create a unique experience that brought families closer via connectivity rather than surveillance. This became the New Family Circle.

		<description>In November of 2011 the Korean-American banking landscape witnessed
its first multi-billion dollar merger. Center Bank and Nara Bank merged to create the nation's largest Korean-American bank. Focused primarily on small business banking, the two banks saw the opportunity to grow beyond their own community and into a multitude of ethnic locales. As a consequence of the merger, Center/Nara elevated itself into a newer strata of competition. The merger committee approached the team at ANDLAB with the task of positioning the brand to take advantage of these new opportunities. This called for a full re-brand, from strategy to naming and brand signature.

The team saw the opportunity of bringing Korean-style banking—a style reliant on close-knit relationships and mutual respect—to the American public. BBCN was re-branded as the business bank for this experience

		<description>California State University, Long Beach holds its BFA Graphic Design senior show once every semester. For the graduating class of Fall 2011, the 18 seniors took the initiative to have a fully branded, independent show off-campus in downtown Long Beach.

The concept of Opposites Attract comes directly from the nature of the seniors involved. For the 18 of us as a collective, opposites really did attract. From our nationalities to our personalities and to our design styles, we were a mixed bag of opposites that somehow worked wonderfully together.

Taking this concept further, we aimed to express that the structure of life is balanced by opposites, and as visual communicators, it is our job—even our privilege—to communicate this truth.

Coupling with the poster is the show invite—a 12 page newspaper-style piece that playfully communicates the worldly idea behind opposites attract. These invites were mailed out prior to the show to friends, family, and agencies in the region.

		<description>Proposition 19, which asked for legal possession of marijuana in the state of California, was a hot topic leading up to the November 2010 statewide election. Inspired by the new market that legalization would create, Perspective Branding asked us to brand marijuana as if it were given the same rules and regulations as alcohol.

Going into the project we were determined to ease the stigma of marijuana by not associating the brand with 'stoner culture' at all. Survey research provided us with the concept of creating a restaurant-lounge centered on THC-infused cuisine served in a tapas-style manner. Marijuana in smokable form would still be available in a take out section, but smoking in the establishment would not be allowed.

The brand name 'de mart' is an ode to Amsterdam, a place where THC-infused dining first gained fame. The name was inspired by Dutch flower marts, which showcase vivid color arrangements that create quite the visual enhancement.

For edible take-out, a hands-on approach is incorporated, where employees wrap individual packages specially for customers. When opened, the package 'blooms' to expose the edible.

Joints, blunts, and individual nuggets would be sold in abstract flower packages. The two strains of marijuana, indica and sativa, would be separated by color and name. Indica, which offers a more calm, introspective high, is named as 'shade' and is packaged in blue. Sativa, a more creative and active high, is labeled as 'sun' and set in orange.
